RWANDAIR has offered the Zambia Sports Fans Association a 154-seater passenger plane to charter Chipolopolo fans to Kenya for the September Africa Cup qualifier.

And ZSFA president, Peter Makembo, said despite a slow start to the Africa Cup qualifiers, the team needed support at all stages to make it to the tournament.

In a letter responding to the association’s request, Rwandair country manager, Glyden Mungaila, confirmed that the airline would give out a154-seater at a cost of US$91,630.

Mungaila said the amount would cater for all transport transfers and grandstand tickets at the stadium.

“I’m pleased to offer you the full package of the flight, transport transfers and stadium tickets for grandstands at a total of US$91,630,” stated Mungaila.

Makembo has since called on soccer fans wishing to cheer the team to pay US$595 each to get on the plane.

He said all payments were to be made directly at the Rwandair offices at Intercontinental Hotel or get in touch with him.

Makembo said there was a challenge among Zambian soccer fans whenever the team was playing away.

He said very few people travel to cheer the team.

“The government is doing a lot to support the national team but as fans we can also help by finding our way to the stadium. Home matches are not a problem but the challenge is when we are playing away. We saw how the team struggled to beat Namibia, they need the fans to cheer them,” he said.
